Hi all, it's been a while since I have been here.
This year I decided to take Dionysus and compete in the Scottish Islands Peaks Race - an endurance race involving mountain running and sailing over 3/4 days around Argyll in the West of Scotland.
A crew of 5 - 2 runners and three sailors travel almost 100km and climb a total of 10000m, and sail 195km. We had glorious sunshine, we had no wind, we had too much wind. We had - not unusual for Scotland, rain. we had big waves, and no waves. We had 8knt tidal streams to work around.
Unfortunately due to sea-sickness and equipment failures - most serious of which was the heads coming off its mountings, it was decided for safety to retire, along with 28 others of the 44 race starters.
